Sylvia Schwartz is fast becoming one of the most exciting lyric sopranos of her generation.
In 2010/11 the young Spanish soprano joined the Vienna State Opera company as principal

&lt;p&gt;Serena Malfi was born in Aversa, Italy and studied at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. She debuted as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Zurich during 2009/2010 and took part in concert performances of La Wally and Catarina Cornaro at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In July 2010 she debuted as Angelina in La Cenerentola at the Wildbad Festival and in Italy as Ferdinando in Pergolesi’s Flaminio at the Jesi Pergolesi Festival in June. Future engagements include Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Théâtre Champs Elysées, Paris and Annio in La Clemenza di Tito at the Teatro Real Madrid.

The Romanian tenor Marius Brenciu obtained a Master’s degree at the Bucharest University of Music and made his debut as Don Ottavio in Mozart’s &lt;i&gt;Don Giovanni&lt;/i&gt; in 1997. Among the many prizes he has won, his most remarkable achievement was winning First Prizes in both the “Lied” and “Singer of the World” Competitions at the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition in 2001. Marius made his debut at the Met in 2008 with an overwhelming success in &lt;i&gt;La Rondine&lt;/i&gt; and also performed in renowned productions such as &lt;i&gt;La Traviata&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;La Bohème&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;Macbeth&lt;/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;Simon Boccanegra&lt;/i&gt; and &lt;i&gt;L’Elisir d’amore&lt;/i&gt; among others. Throughout this time he also participated in Masterclasses with Leyla Gencer, Leo Nucci, Renato Bruson and Luis Alva. He made his operatic debut at the Donizetti Theatre in Bergamo in Donizetti’s La Parisina, organised by the La Scala Academy and the following year he sang the role of Figaro in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at La Scala. During 2010/2011 he will make his role debut as Ford in Falstaff and in a new production of Don Carlo in Zurich.
