Profile:
Tessa Laws trained at Rosenblatt, becoming a partner in 2001, and has been the firm's main link with Japan for a number of years, setting up contacts within the fields of law, financial services and accountancy in Japan to service inward and outward client requirements. She has represented many institutional, corporate and individual clients of the firm over the years in their M&A, IPO and venture capital activities - in particular those individuals behind Darlow Smithson Productions, Lion Television Ltd and Carnival Film & Television Ltd; institutions such as Shore Capital Ltd, Seymour Pierce Ltd and Daniel Stewart Ltd; sample VCs being Acuity Capital LLP, Chrysalis Group plc, Elderstreet Investments Ltd and Matrix Group Ltd. Latterly Tessa has been involved in various wind farm transactions - both on the funding and the sales side - and has expertise on transactions in each of the biomass, ethanol and fuel cell sectors.
In 2008 Tessa launched the inaugural New Energy Awards for the firm at the Jumeirah Carlton hotel - lauding companies and individuals involved in the renewable energy sector in the UK and elsewhere. This year's awards are to be held at the Natural History Museum. All Rosenblatt revenue from these events are donated to charity.
Tessa is a member of the Slow Food organisation and a committee member of the Almeida cabaret fundraising committee and Time4Women. She lives in west London with her three children.
