George Jackson
Associate, Dispute Resolution
George Jackson trained at sister firm Memery Crystal, and was promoted to Associate in 2022. He has extensive experience of commercial and corporate disputes, in particular as to finance, M&A and construction. He is regularly instructed to progress and defend complex, high-value, cross-border claims in the High Court and the London Court of International Arbitration, in particular where there are allegations of fraud.
His matters often involve interim remedies including freezing orders, security for costs and conditional orders, as well as summary judgment, and George has substantial experience of these procedures from the claimant and defendant perspectives, in both an arbitration context and in the courts.
George also has wide-ranging experience of enforcing judgments and protecting rights worldwide, and in enforcing overseas judgments in England, including working alongside lawyers in other jurisdictions to coordinate global projects to recover assets.
Recent experience:
- Achieved successful outcomes for multiple clients in various cross-border, high-value LCIA arbitrations.
- Instructed by CRF I Limited in their landmark claim against the Banco Nacional de Cuba and the Republic of Cuba.
- Assisted Marex Financial in their milestone, successful appeal to the Supreme Court.
- Resisted enforcement of overseas judgment in England on human rights grounds.
- Obtained default judgment in blockchain-related fraud matter.
Awards and Recognition:
- Winner of the 2018 Nigel Asquith Prize, given to the student across the University of Law branches who achieves the highest grade on the LPC Business module that year.
